Reducing sodium intake is a significant health goal for a majority of Canadians. The recommended daily intake of sodium is 1500 mg. On average, Canadians consume up to 3400 mg per day. This chronic over-consumption of sodium can lead to health concerns.  However, while these sodium guidelines apply to the majority of the population, the needs of athletes are different.  To find out how they differ and how you can apply this knowledge with your athletes, please click here to read the rest of the article.
